Traditional Pilates
Traditional Pilates was designed as a form of low-impact exercise which is designed to strengthen and lengthen muscles and to improve posture and core stability. The exercises are a form of dynamic stabilisation retraining that reconditions the body from the central core (deep abdominal muscles) following the original matwork exercises devised by Joseph Pilates.
Beginners’ Traditional Pilates Matwork Class
Through practising Pilates your core stability can improve through regular stimulation and mental focus. The exercises are designed to promote flexibility, endurance, postural awareness and to correct muscle imbalances
We are able to offer Traditional Pilates in a class environment. Our course of Pilates runs over 6 weeks with clients attending 1 class weekly. Prior to commencing the course we will send you a self-assessment form to complete and return which will provide us with important information about you.

Our class is currently at beginner’s standard which enables you to understand the Pilates principles before processing on to an intermediate class. The Traditional Pilates Class is not suitable for those with back pain or injury due to the advanced exercises, however the Modified Pilates Class is an alternative where the traditional exercises are broken down and built up gradually.
