Professional Profile

Mr Selmon began his medical training in 1987 at Guy’s Hospital Medical School. He graduated in 1992 and after basic surgical training he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1996. He undertook his Specialist Orthopaedic training in London and the South East. His final year of training was spent in the world-renowned Spinal Unit in Adelaide, South Australia working closely for Professor R D Fraser.

In 2003 he was appointed as Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust at Conquest Hospital and has continued to expand both his adult spinal practice as well as his General Orthopaedic commitment.

Mr Selmon has recently been appointed an examiner for the FRCS(Tr & Orth) examination and is actively involved in the teaching and training of future orthopaedic surgeons. In addition to his surgical role he has recently been appointed as cross site lead for Clinical Governance in Orthopaedics and is therefore involved in ensuring the delivery of the best quality treatment possible.

Personal Profile

When time allows Guy Selmon still spends his time playing and watching cricket. He is also an avid golfer. Guy is married with two young children and tries to spend as much of his spare time with his family
